Nested Tags in Compac Layouts
Nested tags are tags within tags or items of data tagged multiple times. The need to nest tags usually crops up in the Related Party note here is an example:
During the year the company purchased goods amounting to £10500 (2011 - £8765) from X Limited a company in which Mr J Bloggs has a controlling interest. In addition the company benefited from services supplied by X Limited to the value of £13000 (2011 £0). The amount owed to X Limited at the year end was £8500 (2011 - £0).
The names of the parties involved - X Limited and Mr J Bloggs appear only once (in bold italics in the above statement) but the statements on the nature of the transactions and general amounts involved (in italics in the statement above) needs to be tagging four times because there are two transactions with values for both the current and comparative year.
The statements on the nature of the transactions and general amount involved need to reference the names of the related parties (the transactions and amounts involved don't have any meaning without naming the related parties). The tags
One way to do this is to assign a tuple* reference to make the tags unique
