Minimum hardware specifications

So that you get the most out of your software your computer has to be capable of running the software effectively. The following guide gives you the information you need to check that your software will work properly on your hardware.

As well as the minimum requirements we also provide a recommended specification.  Whilst the software will run on the minimum supported hardware we strongly recommend that you upgrade to at least the recommended configuration as soon as possible.

The following shows the operating systems we support and when we will stop supporting them.  We mirror the Microsoft timeline for Extended support - if you can still receive security updates from Microsoft we'll continue to support that version.  If your operating system isn't listed we will not be able to support you.


Windows 7: Professional, Ultimate or Enterprise Edition (Service Pack 1)


Note: On 14th January 2020 the Windows 7 operating system goes out of Microsoft’s extended support:


As a result, IRIS Keytime products running on Windows 7 will no longer be supported in our April 2020 release v20.1.0 and beyond; please see the EOL section below for further details.


Windows Basic, Professional or Enterprise Edition


Windows 10: Professional or Enterprise Edition


Server 32-bit or 64-bit versions of:


Windows Server 2008: Standard, Enterprise, or Datacenter Edition (Service Pack 2)

Windows Server 2008 R2: Foundation, Standard, Enterprise, or Datacenter Edition (Service Pack 1)

Microsoft EOL Support


Microsoft Operating Systems


On 14th January 2020 the following 3 operating systems go out of Microsoft’s extended support:



  • Windows Server 2008 SP2

  • Windows Server 2008 R2

  • Windows 7


As a result, IRIS products will no longer be supported on these operating systems in our 2020 Spring release v20.1.0 and beyond..


Note: While IRIS Keytime products may continue to work using the above operating systems, they will not be tested in these environments and we will not be able to offer support to customers using them.
