Error 1315 Installing Keytime Accountants Suite

Some customers may get error 1315 during the installation of Keytime Accountants' Suite. This article describes the issue and how to resolve it.


Issue


The issue may occur in networked environments where a PC is acting as 'server', in what is know as a 'peer to peer' network configuration.


During installation the installer may thrown error 1315, unable to write to the specified folder followed by the path to the orgfile in the data location. The likely cause of this error is lack of permission to access and upgrade certain files in the central data location.

Solution


Click OK on the error message and the installation will rollback. The solution is to run the installation on the PC acting as file server. The installer will then upgrade the necessary files in the data location. Once this is complete attempt the installation on the workstation, which should now successfully complete.
